Our Projects

A circle of action operating around the clock.

To fulfill our vision, Ruach Nechona operates the Shaveh B’Shaveh (Equally Together) program, which includes a variety of dedicated projects designed to support our Lone Soldiers.

Here are some of the key initiatives aimed at enhancing their well-being and creating new opportunities, ensuring a balanced and mutual support system.

Feeling at Home – Housing for Lone Soldiers

We open our doors and our hearts to 30 dedicated soldiers who serve our country with unwavering commitment.

Our apartments, located in the heart of Israel, provide more than just a roof over their heads—they offer a safe and supportive environment that fosters a deep sense of belonging.

Each soldier receives:
A fully equipped private room.
Personal guidance and support from our housing coordinator and staff.
A warm and inclusive community with shared activities and meals.
One-on-one mentorship throughout military service, including presence at key moments
Career and life counseling to prepare for civilian life.

In addition, our soldiers are surrounded by a dedicated network of volunteers who provide care and special treats throughout the year, ensuring they always feel valued and supported.

Being There for Them – Personal Mentorship Program

Through our Personal Mentorship Program, Lone Soldiers and young veterans who choose to participate are paired with dedicated volunteers living nearby. Together, they build meaningful, long-term relationships.

Our volunteers are there for them—offering guidance, support, and a listening ear, tailored to each soldier’s or veteran’s unique needs and preferences. They provide emotional and practical support at key moments during and after military service.

Since this program is highly personalized, each relationship develops its own unique character. The mentorship can include:
Regular meetings and conversations
Friday night and holiday meals
Accompaniment at ceremonies and life milestones
Assistance with personal challenges

Additionally, the volunteer serves as a direct connection between the soldier and our organization, helping them access the various support services we offer.

A Backpack for Every Recruit – The Backpack Project

Following a visit by the organization’s founders to the recruitment office, our flagship project was established—a fully equipped backpack for incoming soldiers.

As part of our activities, workshops, and lectures for youth in pre-military programs, boarding schools, and educational frameworks, we integrate a volunteer day dedicated to packing essential supplies for future soldiers.

At the end of the day, these young participants receive a backpack themselves, ensuring they enter their military service well-equipped and ready for a meaningful journey.

Holiday Food Packages

Ahead of the Tishrei holidays and Passover, the organization delivers hundreds of food packages directly to the homes of Lone Soldiers.

These packages include dry food essentials, hygiene products, and more. They are carefully packed and distributed across the country by our dedicated community of volunteers.

Beyond providing basic necessities, these packages symbolize the deep connection between the organization and Lone Soldiers, expressing gratitude for their service and reminding them that they are never alone on their journey.

Scholarship Program – Higher Education Within Reach

Transitioning from military service to civilian life is a challenging process, especially for Lone Soldiers.

Ruach Nechona offers academic scholarships for recently discharged Lone Soldiers, helping them take their next steps toward higher education.

As part of the scholarship program, recipients mentor and support active Lone Soldiers throughout their service. This creates a cycle of giving, fostering a strong sense of social responsibility and expanding the network of support.

The scholarship program is made possible through partnerships with academic institutions, foundations, and various organizations, which integrate their scholarship recipients into Ruach Nechona’s initiative.

Professional Courses and Training

In collaboration with partners, organizations, companies, and individuals, Ruach Nechona operates an annual training program offering workshops and courses across various fields. The program is designed to equip recently discharged Lone Soldiers with essential skills and knowledge, helping them integrate successfully into the job market.

We partner with professional training providers to offer specialized courses and actively incorporate our veterans into these programs. Additionally, we host enrichment workshops to support the personal and professional growth of Lone Soldiers.

We believe that every workshop, course, or training session opens new doors and creates new opportunities on the path to self-fulfillment.

Furniture Delivered to Your Door

As part of our commitment to easing the daily challenges of Lone Soldiers, Ruach Nechona provides essential furniture and household items to those in our program.

From dining sets, desks, sofas, dressers, beds, and mattresses to shelves, rugs, and mirrors, we ensure that Lone Soldiers receive high-quality, brand-new furniture delivered directly to their homes.

This initiative helps create a comfortable and supportive living environment, allowing them to focus on their future without worrying about basic necessities.

"Connecting"

Through our dedicated and expansive volunteer community, we provide targeted support based on the evolving needs of Lone Soldiers and veterans.

This includes:

  • Legal and financial guidance by connecting them with lawyers and accountants for professional advice.
  • Personalized resume writing assistance to help them navigate the job market.
  • Support for various personal challenges they may encounter.

Our network ensures that every soldier and veteran receives the right help at the right time, fostering a strong foundation for their future.
